With her background as an equine therapist and behavioral specialist she has worked with children as young as two through adulthood presenting with all different needs, from autism, ADHD, divorce care, trauma, foster care, anxiety, depression, suicidal behaviors, and medical diagnosis such as fetal alcohol syndrome and epilepsy. Howie is a standard-sized goldendoodle puppy. Goldendoodles are known to be hypoallergenic, low-shedding animals. You can find Howie in the office on some days to provide support through Animal-Assisted Therapy. He has been known to help provide calming influence by lending comfort and affection. Howie is in training to become a certified therapy dog. As an Emotional Support Animal Howie is used for Animal-Assisted Therapy which is a type of therapy that incorporates human-animal interactions into the therapeutic treatment process. It is considered an adjunct to existing therapy and is led by a mental health professional trained to work with a certified animal. ATT is incorporated as an integral part of the treatment process by using the human-animal bond in goal-directed interventions
